Hello, i currently have my raspberry pi running rasbian, acting as a wireless printer/scanner server for a canon pixma mp610. the scanner is nice and prompt, using the sane 'webscan' frontend.. In this tutorial, i will be going through the steps on how to set up a raspberry pi print server. the process of getting the software installed is pretty simple, but configuring it and getting a windows network to find the print server is a bit more of an involved process.. Intro: turn any printer into a wireless printer with a raspberry pi once you've bought a wireless printer, you never want to go back to the dark days of having to plug in all the time. but good wireless printers are expensive, and many routers that let you make network printers out of usb ones don't necessarily do all the driver-work for you..
This feature is not available right now. please try again later.. Configuring your raspberry pi as a print server with cups. with the equipment connected and setup, the first thing to do is ensure that your usb printer is detected.. The i386 driver will install on a x86 install, you just need to use sudo dpkg -i --forcearchitecture canon~.rpm on each driver. i have done both my laptop and htpc which are running 64 bit kernels, and both will print and scan from my canon mp560 albeit crudely on the printing in some ways..
